Boost Your Knitting: The Designers
Are you ready?
We are beyond excited by the stellar list of designers who have contributed patterns to Boost Your Knitting: Another Year of Techniques. These are the people whose patterns I turn to for fun knitting. They have all contributed to my knitting knowledge, and I am thrilled to be sharing their creations with you!
So without further ado, the designers! It’s remarkably hard to write about some of these amazing people without giving away which technique they will be showcasing. :D The following list corresponds to the photo, working from left to right and top to bottom:
Anna Maltz – Well-known for her playful approach to knitting, Anna is an avid sweaterspotter and knit detective who sees the world through yarn-tinted spectacles!
Carol Feller (Photo © Kate O’Sullivan) – With a background in structural engineering, it’s perhaps not surprising that Carol’s gorgeous designs use interesting constructions and techniques.
Ella Austin (Photo © Emma Solley) – Ella creates unutterably cute toy designs as well as having an eye for beautiful colourwork. She lives in Devon, UK.
Felicity (Felix) Ford – Combining textiles with sounds and much joy since 2006, Felix brings an attention to the details of the world around her to life through knitting.
Joji Locatelli – Joji’s stunning designs combine great construction with just the right amount of clever detail. Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she dreams of travel and new knitting projects.
Julia Farwell-Clay – Partial to sweaters with cables or a bit of colour, Julia’s eye-catching designs use interesting techniques and diverse inspiration sources.
Nancy Marchant (Photo © Alexandra Feo) – The Queen of Brioche! Nancy has brought this incredibly versatile way of knitting to the fore, converting thousands of knitters to the way of the bark and burp.
Sarah Hatton (Photo © I Hobson) – Working extensively with Rowan, Sarah has created many iconic designs, her designs often feature beautiful cables and texture.
Thea Colman – Thea has cleverly combined her hobbies, creating a career that justifies her favourite purchases – fibre, vintage glassware and spirits! Her designs feature cables, lace and motifs that look harder than they are.
Tori Seierstad – Tori is known for her outstandingly colourful designs, featuring bold motifs. She hails from Lillehammer in Norway, and loves Shetland wools.
Wendy D. Johnson – Wendy is a fantastically prolific knitter, whose fabulous designs span cables, lace and beautiful colourwork.
